May haiku by `AbCat:iconAbCat:

May 1

last winter
the flies were forgotten
not after today

May 2

fishpond koi
flick irritably at
spring's latent cold

May 3

gulls patrol
Poole's summer skies.
fake superheroes!

May 4

off Durlston head
the first basking shark
harvests the swell

May 5

curb to garden
garden to curb
the ants' freeway!

May 6

a lost dragonfly
inspects high street stores.
window-shopping?

May 7

bluebottle
no way can you break
that window

May 8

a playfight
my yielding arms pinned
her butterfly

May 9

smouldering incense
sedates the summer
awakens me

May 10

tendons strained
from false expressions
lawyer's neck

May 11

FREE TO A GOOD HOME.
EIGHT YEAR OLD YORKIE.
SPITEFUL. BITES.

May 12

"Hello? Yeah,
I'm in a library!"
I feel murderous

May 13

Darwin is brown
the queen black
on a ten pound note

May 14

beneath the lampshade:
the flies' quadrille

May 15

face scowls, lips sneer
the cat hunts not from hunger

May 16

round yellow hairy
attacking my face
tennis ball

May 17

the sycamore
sheds helicopters
as the wind blows

May 18

brown clouds
pass yellow feelers
over grey hills

May 19

two magpies
build a perfect nest
without conferring

May 20

Poole park bathes,
but not in sunshine:
it's underwater!

May 21

how is sunset
orange, turquoise, pink and red
without brashness?

May 22

terns bank precisely
in the chaotic gale.

May 23

halfway up a cliff
casually chewing cud
cow!

May 24

Poole stadium:
a long ball - the players swerve
a hawk - the flock veers

May 25

two quivering fans
one resting butterfly

May 26

Monday's hacking crests
Friday's glass table
fickle Poole Bay

May 27

through the mist
ghost-ship of stone
Corfe Castle

May 28

slug
unnecessarily
aerodynamic

May 29

coasting to six
labouring to twelve
weary second hand

May 30

a party trumpet
awakens the park.
Canada goose

May 31

the pigeon fancies his chances
as a traffic warden

A haiku a day for the month of May. (Hooray!)
Inspired by the HaikuWriMo project established by =MSJames

The other participants are:
*Aqua-rat *Bogbrush ~blindsuperhero *Esin =Keraness *iamshe =MSJames ~moyanII `radiophonic ~RedDragonfly =RetroZombie ~the-beastie =Yaanon =zebrazebrazebra

I highly recommend viewing all these deviants for their haiku. The standard is incredibly high. My sincere thanks to =MSJames for initiating and organising this project and to all the kind peeps who have commented on my haiku.

Hey, very good! I'd take both of the 'afters' out though, but that's just me. :)
I'm glad you've joined in, good luck!

Good point. Thanks.
:iconabcat:
I decided to take the first 'after' away but leave the second. All good!
:iconabcat:
Three done now, because its already gone midnight in England. I think things are going ok. Two and Three felt 'true', if you can excuse the cliche, and I really enjoyed writing them.
:iconmsjames:
I had some trouble reading day 2, should there be a comma in there somewhere?

Day 3's is good, but the bane of haike is the word 'like', see if you can get rid of it and still say the same things. :)

Like has been replaced and both now have punctuation. The third one seems completely different now.
