February Haiku by `AbCat:iconAbCat:

-1-

night chills
black sky, black sea
one light blinking

-2-

boys watching snowflakes
melting
on her bare legs

-3-

Poole Park:
white grass, black trees
and grey water

-4-

gathered on the street corner
four snowmen

-5-

eddies in the wind
snow rising
past my window

-6-

dragging his shoes
the child leaves longer prints
than his mother

-7-

night time
a crisp packet
scraping along the road

-8-

pawprints
in the dew
on my car

-9-

solid lake
ducks staring
silently

-10-

thrushes
smashing snails
on Stonehenge

-11-

giant pigeons
dancing cats
youtube

-12-

running across
the iced lake
two foxes

-13-

expecting nature
to behave naturally -
how silly of me!

-14-

the cleaner
kicks cockroaches
along the corridor

-15-

my apartment
and trees
islands in the fog

-16-

night time
the howling of dogs
and drunks

-17-

by the 14th green
a golf ball hides
in a fresh cow pat

"... forever yours, nocturnal me..."
:iconiscariot-priest:
"Night chills" mean you're coming down with something, or is that just the cold biting you on the ass? =p

I like the repetition of darkness throughout the whole thing, though I didn't get much of an image other than it being a dark night with a busted light. What's the meaning behind "dark sea"? That part sounds particularly mysterious/important.

“Now me lay down to sleep.
Mow da zeebas down like sheep.
Give dem to me nice and dead.
Me no happy ‘til me fed.”
-Bedtime prayer of crocs, Pearls Before Swine

makes me think of a lighthouse...

Like the haiku itself - the beacon shines to guide your path :)

I was thinking of Bill for that one.

THIS IS THE GATE OF HEAVEN. ENTER YE ALL BY THIS DOOR. (This door is kept locked because of the draught - please use side door.)

bare legs! I was so sure it would be, "tongue" Excellent play on the mind!

How many times have I been alone to have just, "one light blinking." This evokes a big - whoa - I know what that feels like - from me. Great start!

First learn the meaning of what you say, and then speak.

Ah, these are great! The first one is so immersive, and the second made me shiver... :D

Always look on the bright side... there's more light there and it's easier to find stuff.
:iconkeraness:
Your first haiku made me shiver. I love the concept of there always being a light of hope in even the darkest circumstances.
